Young keeper Cieran Slicker says he already feels settled at Ipswich Town, and hopes to be able to contribute more to the team in the season ahead.
The 20-year-old, who signed from Premier League giants Manchester City in the summer, impressed on his competitive debut in the Carabao Cup win over Bristol Rovers last night.
The Blues eased to a 2-0 win, with Slicker making a couple of important saves – including one from a nasty deflection – to keep a clean sheet in his first start.

He told Town TV of his debut: “I’m buzzing with it – especially for it to be here at Portman Road, it was really special.
“My family came up as well, so for them to witness it was really good.
“I thought as a team we were excellent, right from the start – pressing-wise at the top of the pitch and defensively as well we were solid.
“So I’m buzzing with it!”

He added: “I was happy with how I played. I only had to make a couple of saves, so credit to Elkan (Baggott) and the back-line – and even the front-line, pressing starts from the top.
“Defensively it comes from there, and they were top.
“There was a wicked deflection in there, but I felt I did well with it.”

Slicker originally looked set to be the third choice keeper this season when he signed, but with the injury to Christian Walton he has now been pushed up the depth chart and will serve as Vaclav Hladky’s deputy for the foreseeable future.
And he says he feels comfortable at the club already.
“Everyone’s been amazing,” he explained. “I can’t thank them enough, they’ve made me feel as welcome as I can be.
“I’m getting to know my way around the place now and I like it, it’s quiet.
“I’ve got a real feel for the place now and I feel comfortable with the team, so hopefully I can add more to it.”

Young centre-back Baggott, who was interviewed alongside Slicker on TownTV, revealed that Rovers posed problems for the Town defence.
“It was actually quite a tough shift, to be fair,” he smiled.
“They were good, they tried to play out, sometimes in ridiculous areas, and we had to stay sharp and try and go in as much as we can.
“I thought we were brilliant with turnovers – when we lost the ball, we won it back quickly, so it was good.”
