Juventus boss Max Allegri appears to have delivered his verdict on Dusan Vlahovic’s future.
The Serbian striker’s future has been up for debate throughout the summer. The 23-year-old has struggled to replicate the prolific form he displayed with Fiorentina since making the move to Turin in January 2022, scoring 10 league goals last term.
Juventus have been linked with a cut-price move for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, plunging Vlahovic’s future into further doubt. It had been claimed that the former Fiorentina man could be included in a player-plus-cash deal involving Lukaku that would see Vlahovic arrive at Stamford Bridge but Allegri has seemingly shut down that suggestion.

“Our ideas are to have Vlahovic as a Juventus centre-forward, together with a number of important strikers, which are the other three,” Allegri said after an intra-club friendly. “I repeat: there are also economic assessments to make. However, the club must make those. At the moment I don’t think there are any.”
Allegri has three other strikers at his disposal in the form of Moise Kean, Arkadiusz Milik and youngster Kaio Jorge. However, the Italian giants are reported to stull be closing in on a move for Lukaku, despite Chelsea deciding against a swap deal that would see Vlahovic heading in the opposite direction.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that former club-record signing Lukaku has agreed a three-year contract with Juventus. The striker spent last season with old club Inter Milan but the latter withdrew from negotiations after learning that Lukaku was entertaining Juventus’ interest.
Meanwhile, Allegri had previously stated that Vlahovic would be staying with the club, unless Juventus received an unexpected offer: “I’m happy with the players we have but impossible to refuse bids will be evaluated due to the financial situation. I will adapt to the club’s choice, as always.”
