The five-passenger SUV is designed with the Asean region in mind, offering stylish yet robust SUV styling, comfort, and practicality. So that means it’s expected to be available in Malaysia soon.
It features a spacious cabin, versatile storage spaces, and road handling that ensures safe and secure rides in various weather or road conditions.
The Xforce is built at Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Indonesia and will be first rolled out in Indonesia, with plans for other Asean countries, South Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
The Xforce’s interior and exterior design are based on the concept of Silky & Solid, combining elegance and robustness to create a commanding presence in scenes from Asean cities to the great outdoors.
The upper part of the body exudes an airy silkiness with a floating roof and a sleek surface, while the lower part adopts solid and powerful proportions of an SUV, with muscular fender flares expressing agility and a top-class ground clearance of 222 mm.
The Xforce SUV features a Dynamic Shield front face, three-dimensionally integrated bumpers, LED daytime running lights, and muscular body surfaces.
The instrument panel, designed based on the Horizontal Axis concept, provides forward visibility and a spacious area for passengers to relax. The instrument panel is made of a mélange fabric, providing a sense of enclosure and resistance to stains.
The large monolithic display panel includes a 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio and a digital driver display, enhancing the overall feel of the vehicle.
The Xforce offers a spacious interior room, with top-class seating, a spacious shoulder area, and ample legroom for passengers. The rear seats have eight-levels of reclining adjustment, accommodating a wide range of needs.
For the first time, the Xforce comes equipped with Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium developed in collaboration with Yamaha Corporation.
The system comprised eight speakers, with front tweeters on the A-pillars on both sides, woofers in the front doors, and coaxial two-way speakers in the rear doors.
The sound system optimises sound quality and provides well-defined mids and highs, dynamic bass, and four sound types – Lively (factory setting), Signature, Powerful, and Relaxing.
The Xforce’s practicality is further enhanced by the 12.3-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio and 8-inch digital driver display, providing intuitive operation and a comfortable driving experience.
The display also features Mitsubishi Motors’ first driving score function developed with Hiroshi Masuoka, a former two-time Dakar Rally champion driver. WebLink allows users to connect their smartphone and project applications on the large display.
The Xforce offers versatile storage spaces, including drink holders, a console box with drink cooler, and various storage spaces for smartphones. The vehicle’s compact body size and spacious cabin space provide ample cargo space, with a 40:20:40 split for comfortable seating.
Road handling is touted as safe and secure, even on rough or flooded roads.
The high-efficiency CVT combined with a proven 1.5L DOHC 16-valve MIVEC engine delivers powerful acceleration, smooth shifting, and improved driving force for uphills and downhills. Well-tuned suspension ensures a comfortable ride on Asean roads.
In the front, steering feel and straight-line stability are improved by optimising the caster trail and quickening the steering gear ratio, while in the rear, steering stability is enhanced by optimising the suspension bushings and the shock absorber cylinder size.
The Xforce offers four drive modes, including a new Wet mode, for improved road handling. Other modes are Normal, Gravel and Mud.
It uses Mitsubishi’s four-wheel control technology, including Active Yaw Control (AYC), traction control, engine control, and power steering control, helps the car handle various road conditions.
The Wet mode enhances cornering and stability on wet roads, ensuring worry-free driving even on flooded roads.
